DigiEye, manufactured in the UK by VeriVide Limited can image and accurately measure the colour of curved and glossy surfaces such as those found on plates, cups, jugs and vases. This makes it an invaluable tool for the ceramics industry.
DigiEye can image complete ceramic items within the DigiEye controlled lighting cabinet therefore colour appearance differences due to the gloss of the glaze and the angle of curvature can be assessed. The DigiPix colour replacement software provides enhanced visualisation during the product development stage for designers and artists by viewing alternative colourways without firing new product.
DigiEye with the DigiPix software is ideal for the quality control of ceramic items with areas of small painted detail as very small areas of colour – as little as one pixel can be measured. These coloured areas would be impossible to measure using a conventional spectrophotometer, which can only measure flat areas of 4mm or greater size.
