DigiPix > Textiles - Homeware
The ability to measure colour has been available for over 50 years.
The human eye was found to be unreliable when it came to making the consistent, reliable subjective decisions regarding colour. Incorrect colour decisions cost industry time & money.
Until recently the Spectrophotometer has been the main method for the measurement and global communication of colour. Now digital technology takes colour measurement and colour communication a major leap forward.
The DigiEye System from VeriVide Limited includes a unique lighting cabinet with consistent measurement and communication of colour and images beyond the capabilities and limitations of traditional spectrophotometers.
As the items to be measured are placed inside the cabinet this allows for accurate and consistent colour measurement of 2D and also 3D objects, multi-coloured items such as complex printed home furnishing and even liquids; down to the colour of a single pixel if required.
Many fabrics used in Homeware products, which were previously not able to be assessed instrumentally can now be successfully imaged and the colour measured by the innovative DigiEye System.
DigiEye with the DigiPix software is ideal for the quality control of pile fabrics such as towelling, fleece, and velour. DigiEye provides a non-contact measurement for all types of materials with different appearance characteristics.
The non-contact colour measurement of DigiEye ensures that the product is captured in its natural state, whereas measurement with a spectrophotometer would flatten the pile and the reading would be inaccurate.
The DigiPix software can measure very small areas of colour, which are also unable to be measured by a spectrophotometer; which makes this is an invaluable tool for measuring embroidery or printed trimmings on towels.
